Marigolds are a very sunny flower and a great addition to any garden! They are beneficial in that this lovely plant has an odor that keeps some of those pesky garden insects away, like the aphid! They are also a deer resistant plant! There are yellow marigold and orange, but I prefer the beauty of the variegated variety called Queen Sophia. They have an amazing rust color and as the blossom ages it changes color! So, for today I give to you Marigolds in the Morning!
I hope that you enjoyed this series of photos! Be well and have an amazing Saturday! ^..^
Gorgeous!
Thank you!
Wow. They are such vivid colors! I never appreciated marigolds quite as much as I do now after seeing your photos. Thanks!
They are beautiful little flowers! Butterflies like them, and the other day a huge bumbler spent quite a bit of time on these lovelies! Will you plant some next season? 🙂
Now that I know they’re deer resistant, I think they’d be an excellent choice, and I probably will.
🙂
This is the first year in a long time that I don’t have marigolds growing (just forgot to plant them). I still have the seeds I collected from the year before so I’ll try again next spring.
The marigold in this pot was one that is a volunteer! They are prolific when they reseed themselves! Be well!
ailsa’s theme is ‘orange’ this week at ‘where’s my backpack.’ this is perfect!
i can almost smell the unique aroma of the marigolds from here!
They do have a unique aroma! Maybe this is why a lot of bugs do not bother the plant and also why the deer stay away! Hugs to you chica!
Very vibrant colors, and interesting that they can keep some insects away.
Vibrant indeed! And they do keep those pesky bugs away!
Very beautiful! I have heard that marigolds also prevent fleas from getting to your pets.
Thank you! No fleas eh? Interesting! Thank you April for your comment! 🙂
My mom planted marigolds all around our patio. We had (I hate to admit) 8 cats and 2 dogs. Not a one of them suffered from fleas, which kept them out of the house. So…maybe she was onto something?
Maybe she was!
