He was not your ordinary King. He had a penchant for cooking and this set him apart from other Kings!
He was determined to make the best tasting grilled burger ever for the masses. And one day, after many trials, he finally came up with it!
He went public with this fabulous burger, which included a sesame seed bun, lettuce, tomato, onion and crunchy pickles slathered in a creamy mayonnaise. He called it the Whopper!
The statue of the King remains today as a reminder that if you do not eat your Whopper quickly, it will turn to stone!

Happy Birthday today to the United States of America!
To my readers: Thank you for taking the time to drop by today and be well! ^..^
Dear Barbara, Hilarious is right – good story – you are so funny! Love it! Nan 🙂
Thank you very much Nan! Glad I made you laugh!
Dear Barbara,
i didn’t turn to stone, but it is setting pretty heavy on my stomach. Hilarious story. You outdid me this week. 🙂
BTW – I love your flower photography. Beautiful work.
Many thanks Russell! Glad that you did not turn to stone and that I outdid someone! Thank you too for loving the flowers! May you be well! ^..^
BW, Funny story and well written. I haven’t eaten a whopper in ages. I haven’t eaten beef in ages. Well done. 🙂 —Susan
Thank you Susan!
Dear Barbara,
That set my tummy juices to gurgle. 😉 The last line says it all. Well written.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Why thank you Rochelle! I had a number of ideas for that photo! 🙂
Thanks for making me laugh. A truly wonderful take on this week’s prompt.
Thank you Alicia!
If it can turn to stone, then do we really want to eat it? 😉
LOL!
On the side… the last Whopper I ate made me totally ill! That was almost 20 years ago, and I haven’t touched/eaten another one since! And to think that they used to be my favorite burger (well, next to In and Out that is).
Do we indeed? I do not go to fast food places as I have had food poisoning too many times. The Dept. of Health in San Diego actually shut down a Jack in the Box because of the food poisoning I got and others too. I was sick for 5 days!
Oh – would not have though to connect that. Good one!
Thank you RoSy!
Wow – your story explains what I always suspected……..good one, and thanks for the humor.
Thank you PJ!
🙂 Good one.
Thank you!
Ha ha it was funny 😀
Glad that you enjoyed it! 🙂
Hahaha! You must have been hungry when you wrote this Whopper of a story! 🙂
Time for breakfast! 🙂
The villagers who frequented the King’s burger joint got in the habit of calling it the Burger King as it is still known today. 🙂
🙂 Lovely! Thank you Roy!
That’s funny! And pretty much true. And now I’m hungry too, but I’m not sure for what!
Thanks Perry! Go get something to eat! 🙂
