This week’s photo challenge at WordPress is “Focus.” This has to do with depth of field and how the aperture (the way the light travels through the lens) effects a photo. For this challenge today, I have put together this series of photos! I hope that you enjoy them!
Here is a shot of the moon…Check out the way the light plays against the clouds…
The focus on this photo is the red sea urchin nestled in a coral bed.
See how the light plays off the fairies in this photo?
In this photo the focus makes your eyes travel along the fern fiddle, which is getting ready to open.
This photo’s focus is on the bridge in the background. The light and clouds along with the weeds popping in the background help to give this photo depth of field.
One last shot, and one of my favorites. Here the focus is on the three poppies!
I hope you enjoyed this post! Please check out some of the other posts by clicking here!

Wonderful photos! I would be quick to sit and focus, just staring at each of these beautiful sights! I love the sun and the clouds, in particular! Wonderful focus for the theme. 🙂

I agree with Penny. You are definitely on the level of a “pro,” whether you’re getting paid or not. All wonderful shots. My fave is the poppies! 🙂
I love that shot too!
Lovely collection of photos for this challenge. Love the close up of the furn curves!
Thank you Janaline!
Wow. These are really very beautiful photos!
Thank you Rambling!
Wow, the bridge photo is incredible and I love California Poppies! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the compliment and for stopping by!
Lovely, Barb, just the sort of photos I like to take, too. Are you near San Francisco? Too busy to try to figure it out but we’re going to be there in the latter part of September and while Bill’s at a conference for three days, I get to relax. So if you’re anywhere near, perhaps we could meet if you like, can and I can. 🙂

Fixed it! Thank you for the comment Janet. Placerville is about 2.5 hours east of SF. Enjoy your time wandering around the city! Be sure to check out Izzy’s Chop House on Steiner. Steiner is off of Lombard, which is off of Van Ness! My favorite dinner there is the steak in a brandy peppercorn sauce with their fresh creamed spinach and Izzy’s potatoes (an au gratin loaded with cheddar)! Shopping in Union Square is pretty cool! Bring warm clothes! Mark Twain said of San Francisco, “The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco!” 🙂
Soo talented you are. The fern is magical!
Thank you K!
