It is time for another story! Thursday’s I devote the day to writing for the Friday Fictioneers flash fiction challenge hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. The challenge requires that you write a story of no more than 100 words and that the story have a beginning, middle and end. So here is today’s photo and my story.
With the kitchen cleaned up and evidence of foul play removed from the house, no one would know what I did last night. Poor Jeffrey had no idea what was coming when he came over for dinner.
Jeffrey, my older brother was a snot to say the least. He had been rude and condescending to me since we were kids. I gave him a good dose of woman’s bane in his dessert. He left a while later telling me he was not feeling good.
The phone rings. It’s my sister. “Jeffrey is dead.”
“No!” I exclaimed. “What happened?” I smiled.

Thanks go out to Rochelle for hosting Friday Fictioneers, and to Raina for the photo that inspired my story. Thank you dear reader for taking a moment to stop by for a quick read. Have a great day and be well… ^..^
Poor Jeffery alright! Great story. Loved it.
🙂 Thank you Anastasia!
He must have been a really, really… bad brother.
He was a bad brother. She is much happier now that he is gone.
…I’m never eating dinner with my sisters again.
🙂
Nicely done.
KT
Ooohh…were you like Jeffrey with them? 🙂 Thank you KT!
Wow, Barbara, he must have been REALLY rude and condescending. Either that or she was having a very, very bad day. Someone remind me never to get on her bad side. Well done. 🙂 — Suzanne
I am glad you enjoyed the story Suzanne! Never get on the bad side of a sibling. You never know what they will do. Be well… ^..^
Dear Barb,
You certainly took sibling rivalry to a new level with this one. Nicely done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thank you Rochelle. This was the second story that I wrote. I thought my first one was too flat. Shalom and be well… ^..^
I’m with Ansumani… not much hope for the future there. 🙂
You just never know!
Very moving story!…..Vicious! Fair warning….be nice to your sister. Enjoyed reading it.
Thank you JC! I had fun writing it!
She sounds like a very cold-hearted woman. Poor Jeffrey indeed!
She is…but who knows what life was really like with Jeffrey.
Love “women’s bane” even more deadly that “wolf’s bane.” You don’t mess with your sister.
Great story.
Wolf’s bane is another name for women’s bane, which is aconitum. It is a pretty plant with purple flowers and you can get poisoned just from touching the leaves. Never mess with one of your siblings! Thanks Phylor!
Thanks for the info. We were at the garden centre recently and there were several poisonous plants but we weren’t sure what part of the plant and how strong.
Our garden center actually has a book available so that you can look up plants.
Wow, just like that! Wonder if she’ll spill the beans one day?
Or maybe CSI will figure it out!
I’ll keep an eye open for the news!
🙂
I loved it! A sister’s gotta do what a sister’s gotta do! LOL. Loved the last line!
🙂 Thanks Joy! I had written a whole different story, and then I thought I need to write something sinister. I am glad you enjoyed my story!
I enjoyed it!
I am glad that you did!
Oh my! And I thought my relatives were bad! 😉
Everyone has the same family. They just look different! 🙂
I know families like that!
Everyone has the same family they just look different!
I suppose you’re right. Some don’t even look all that different… 😉
No, they do not!
I see I’m not the only one with a murderous mind. Love it, although poor Jeffrey, but rudness is evil! 🙂
It is indeed!
Hmm! Sounds like an episode of the TV show “Snapped”. Nice organized kitchen, it will seem a bit suspicious to the forensics team when they do their investigation.
Maybe…
But of course the CSI people will find out who it was and how she did it. Still, Jeffrey will remain dead.
They might not. This is a hard poison to detect! And, yes Jeffrey will remain dead.
All that for being rude and condescending? She might bring the world’s population down by a quarter at this rate.
She could give others ideas when it gets discovered…
