When I saw the photo for this week’s Friday Fictioneers, I knew what my story would be. So, here is my story entitled, “The Day My World Disappeared.”
I was at the Port of Barcelona in Spain. I visited the craft show that day, looking forward to viewing art. Stopping to admire an artist’s lovely carvings, I noticed this man in dark glasses standing next to me. He was looking at me from the corner of his eye. Strange…
I swiftly walked away. Stopping at another artist’s tent, I noticed he was near me again. Turning to leave, I saw him leave too. Running, I suddenly felt a hand grip my shoulder. As I turned, a stinky rag covered my nose; that was the day my world disappeared.

Thanks to Rochelle Wisoff-Fields for hosting Friday Fictioneers and to Dee Lovering for the photo that inspired this tragic story!
Thank you dear reader for stopping by. I hope you have an amazing day, and be well! ^..^
That was really scary, Barbara. It stands alone, but would also make a great hook for a longer story. Well done. — Suzanne
Thanks Suzanne. It was based on something that happened to me at a flea market. There was no stinky cloth but there was a man following me.
Oooh, is it as bad as it looks? Or something else? Very intriguing!
I cannot tell you! There may be more to this story!
Scary story. Can end up in space!
One never knows! 🙂
It would seem that it was slightly more than his world disappearing – as he was disappearing.
Now I’m disappearing, too.
Randy
Her world was disappearing…Thanks for the comment Randy!
Very scary. I hope the world comes back soon. Great story.
Thank you!
Some chilling end here.. I really wonder what happens later on.
So, would you like to read more? 🙂 Thanks Bjorn!
In broad daylight, in a crowded tourist area: your assailant has some brass neck.
He does indeed!
Oh scary…worst nightmare for a traveller!!
I did my job! 🙂
Yeah, you did way too good!! 😉
Thank you!
Definitely my kind of story. Love this as an introduction to an interesting tale.
Thank you Colline! Not sure if it will continue. I have to see what comes…
Excellent story and so very sad! I hung around after reading it hoping for a flicker of light. lol
Thank you Joy! You are a silly gal! 🙂
HAHA
🙂
Scary and powerful. This could lead to a longer story.
Thanks Ali! We shall see if it can go somewhere in the future…
I hate it when that happens when I’m minding my own business at arts and crafts fairs! 😉 Seriously, very well-written, suspenseful piece!
Thanks! I actually had someone follow me at a flea market. Scared the heck out of me…Ah, but that is a story for another day…
And then…????
🙂 I did good eh? Thank you for the compliment Anneli! Kevin just dealt with Shiree at the jail, and Sylvia left the campsite…Tense….
Wow! You’ve been busy reading!
Every day…Love the story!
So good to hear that.
Done! Need to send you an email with my finds…
Yes, looking forward to that.
Sent!
Definitely an intriguing story. There are quite a few possibilities with this one.
Thanks Francesa! I am glad that you found it intriguing!
So it was a day when the world disappeared for her. Let me guess…aliens or ghosts from the past or just someone she knew. 😉
I can’t give that away Norma!
Large cities are no longer safe places. Great take.
No they are not. Neither are small towns!
Lots of possibilities here. Great job at keeping us guessing.
Thank you SP! I did my job!
Hm! A story that leaves all sorts of thoughts and questions, excellent.
Thanks PJ!
