Our sense of smell is major in our lives. An odor, fragrance, or a scent can in an instant bring back a memory of a place, an event, or even a person! There is a certain scent that I sometimes find in a place that reminds me of the building my Grandma lived in. Or of her cooking. The sweet fragrance of a honeysuckle reminds me of where I lived as a child in the spring when that flower was in full bloom. Looking at photos too, can remind you of a scent or a fragrance or an odor! So, while I’m participating in this week’s Wild Weekly Photo Challenge #31 on Scent, I challenge you to experience the scents that my photos depict!
There is nothing more magnificent that the lovely gentle, or strong scents that can come from a beautiful rose! See if you can smell this one!
Can you smell the fresh cut grass?
Or how about the pungent aroma that surrounds these horses?
There is definitely nothing quite like the smell of a Bay when the tide goes out.
I love the smell of a campfire! How about you? Can you smell it?
The smell of sulfur rising off of a caldera still lingers in my memory and I am reminded of it when I look at my photos of the Kilauea volcano.
I love the crisp clean smell of the air after it rains.
And I do love the salty smell of the ocean as it ebbs and flows along a beach!
I do have to head inside though to share this one with you! There is something that is just plain comforting about the smell of a freshly baked apple pie. Can you smell the apples and the cinnamon?
Of all of the above photos, which one could you “smell” the best? Please let me know by leaving me a comment on the LetsBeWild Challenge. You can get there by clicking here! Just look for my black and white kitty gravatar and my name, Barb!
Now go and have a wonderful Thursday, and thanks for stopping by today!
I can smell them right from the images! Terrific, Barb! 🙂
All lovely images Barb. I found myself experiencing all the wonderful scents oozing from your photos.
Thank you LuAnn! I guess I did my job then with these photos! 🙂
You certainly did! 🙂
My best smell is that fabulous looking apple pie. It’s a perfect picture of deliciousness. A slice of cheddar with my piece, please.
Ice cream too? Vanilla work for you? 🙂
GREAT photos (once again) to brighten my day! Thank you!
The one I could “smell” the best was the fresh cut grass. It is one of my earliest memories from childhood as I watched my dad use the old push mower to cut our back yard.
Simply wonderful post Babs! ♛♛♛
Thank you! Want a piece of pie?
Yes I do! Ala mode ! Happy Mothers day!
Back to you! Have a great week!
5 days later..It was wonderful to be with my 3 children and mother. We ate at The Peddlers Village Inn which I will post eventually. Full of boulders! You will enjoy it!
I am looking forward to it!
I will try tomorrow. I got some lovely photos.
Can’t wait to see the photos!
ah! i pulled a late-nighter working on photos and uploading them,… i’m just starting my day; i think i’ll send the magic carpet for a slice of that pie!
I will watch the skies for you! Look for “Green Acres” painted on the roof of the garage!
how fun! that concept makes me recondier my plans; i’m about to go to town for lunch and supplies.. maybe i should fire up that carpet and head to green acres. pack your bag, lucy, and we’ll dodge those long lines and security checks at the airport and take the magic carpet eggspress (am using the burro laptop!)
Will be patiently waiting Z!
Beautiful photos, they really do conjure up memories of scents…. I used to live by the ocean, that is a wonderful scent, I drink deeply whenever I can.
Thank you Lily!
