I love this week’s photo challenge, which is “Lines and Patterns.” The challenge asks that we find “lines and patterns in the world around us, in nature and things man-made. Sometimes we don’t realize they’re there: On the street; across the walls; up in the sky; and along the ground on which we walk.” Here are lines and patterns that I just recently photographed, some man-made, others in nature!
Let’s begin with two that captured my eye recently that are man-made….The first is a patterned wall that I discovered. The colors and weave are what caught my eye!

A wall in a building
Glitz was everywhere in this building and looking up I found these lovely lines and patterns. The random patterns are reflections of all underneath this area of the ceiling…

Moving on to those found in nature, check out these lovely lines and patterns found in sandstone in the desert!

A design found in rock
Getting close to a rock wall shows all the details that one could miss just walking by…

Taking a closer look at life
Looking at the earth beneath my feet the earth is parched.

Continuing on it changes to beautiful grains of sand that squish beneath my feet as I walk.

Walking on further I find the skin shed off of a snake. Holding it up to the light I see beautiful lines and patterns, a fingerprint of sorts from the snake that moved on.

A plant in the desert, one of my favorite, a barrel cactus, sits before me. The beauty of this is found in the contrasting colors, lines and spinal patterns…

Lines go every which way
