Challenging myself once again, today I decided that I would feature some amazing photos of splashing waters! According to Merriam Webster a splash is: “…of a liquid : To move, fall, or hit something in a noisy or messy way: To cause (water or another liquid) to move in a noisy way or messy way: Or, to make (someone or something) wet with large drops of water or another liquid.” Warning: You might get wet! Ready? Here we go!

There was something awe inspiring about the Grand Tetons! So for today I thought I would do a quick post sharing photos of the Tetons taken from a distance and a couple of close up shots! You have already seen photos with Jackson Lake in the foreground…but I thought you should see these majesties from a different view….

The other day when watching the news they featured a lady with an unusual hobby: She took old costume jewelry and used the pieces to make artwork. I started thinking about what I could do with some of the costume jewelry that I have and decided to photograph some pieces that belonged to my Mom and Grandmother…Two of the items fall a bit out of the jewelry category but are worth including. So let’s start with these…

Back in the days of my Grandmother, women used to adorn their shoes with clips to dress them up. Here is what she used to clip to her shoes…

Shoe Clips

And, handbags were made of metal. So were the coin purses!

Costume jewelry today is nothing like what it was in days gone by. Check out this lovely clasp on a “pearl” necklace!

Cloisonne was big and it was well made as you can see from this necklace and bracelet.

Here is another in the shape of a flower with jade and rhinestones.

All of these pieces are lovely, and one cannot find something today of this quality, unless it too is old!

Go and enjoy your Monday! Have a great day and thanks for visiting today!

Shari over at WordPress has set this photo challenge for photos that show beginnings. It reminded me a bit of of the post that I did of spring approaching and the new beginnings of what was developing in the garden. I thought about this challenge for a bit and decided that the beginnings that I will share with you today are photos of the beginnings of dishes that I have made…I love being in the kitchen, so let’s head in!

Who doesn’t love a cheeseburger? Here is a photo of the beginnings of a cheeseburger with a twist! Bacon and cheddar in the mix!

Lovely bits of bacon and cheddar abound!

This week’s photo challenge asks that we show sources of light! One light came to mind that I simply had to share, and as we are coming close to Christmas you might remember this lamp from the movie “A Christmas Story.”

We were hoping for rain yesterday and started out the day wet, but the storm moved off to the east opening the door for another one to drift in loaded with rain! Being that it was dry yesterday, I ventured around and caught some interesting patterns in metal that I thought that I would share with you today!

I caught this photo of a rusted stair that has a really neat texture!

The pattern kind of reminds me of the breast cancer ribbons side by side.

Here is the same shot looking at what’s behind…

I came across stacked metal. Can you tell me what these are?

This piece was laying on the ground with the grass growing through. Isn’t it grate?

As the days gets shorter, and the temperature drops, and we get closer to the holidays, some of our foothills critters leave, others come in, and some just hibernate. The Pacific Chorus frog is one that will hibernate. Last night as we sat and enjoyed our evening cocktail, we were visited by one of these little frogs…He was very congenial about me taking his photo!

This little fellow climbed out from under the greens of this planter where he has be residing all summer.

Here he is heading away from the huge lens in his face!

He moved over to the roof of the frog house…

Then he looked at me…

I am looking at you!

…before deciding I was boring and that it was time to move off.

Time to go!

Time to go!

This was when he climbed the side of our house.

Climbing the wall

He turned to head off to another area most likely in search of some grub!

Turning to leave

Such a good looking little guy! We will miss their “kreeecckkk” and will look forward to them returning in the spring!

I wish you a splendid Thursday, and thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!
