Stress Determines Sex?

Holy Chromosomes Batman! I just had to comment on an article I read on Yahoo Health. The article claims that stress on pregnant women will determine the sex of the baby she is carrying! WHAT? Yup, that is what the article reports. Here is the link to this unbelievable report.

Now I have to ask, what happened to education? Clearly it is lacking with the claims made by the HealthDay, who does not name the author of the article. I remember learning in sex education classes in my elementary school that it is the male’s contribution that determines the sex of the baby.
How did they figure this out, you ask? They reviewed birth certificates of babies born in Chile over a two year period, from 2004 to 2006, and particularly looked at how close mothers in 2005 were to the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that occurred there. Now you know the rest of the story!
