Peavine Trail at Watson Lake, at Prescott, AZ, used to be part of the Santa Fe railroad that went into the town of Prescott. A side note: Have you heard the expression “What in the Sam Hill?” Sam Hill was a mercantile in the town of Prescott in the late 1800’s. Anyway, off we went to take a hike on the Peavine Trail. The colors were incredible! The birds on Watson Lake were not only beautiful, but plentiful. And, I found faces in the rocks known as “The Dells.” Enjoy the photos from our hike!

I am so excited! Our first snow forecast for the season is this coming Saturday! So, in anticipation of the first snow of the season, here are some photos from first snows of seasons past.
This is what it looks like when it snows in my area of the Sierra Foothills…
Our pup loves the snow. He does what we call a snow plow with his nose and here is a photo of Astro enjoying the snow…Notice he did the snow plow! Here is a photo of my ride to work after a first snow. When it really comes down, the BBQ is shut down… 😦 But I love the snow! 🙂Stay tuned for this season’s first snow photos!

I just had to share this photo I took of the unexpected pleasures I found cruising through the vegetable garden yesterday. We had temp’s down in the low 30’s yesterday morning, and I could see that the cold had taken its toll on some of the plants.
Imagine my surprise walking out of the garden with these beauties!
Zucchini, yellow squash, Mortgage Lifter, Mr. Stripey and Sun Gold tomatoes, and Poblano Chili’s! Sounds like a bit of fresh salsa or my famous zucchini, tomato and mozzarella side dish! Or maybe both!BTW — we have a possibility of snow tonight! Wahoo!
