Thursday is the day that I devote to Friday Fictioneers hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. Writers are challenged to create a complete story using no more than 100 words that go along with the photo prompt provided. Here is the photo and my story, entitled “Hitched.”
Her mother pestered her for years calling her an old maid. Of the men she dated, the first question her mom asked was what kind of car they drove. Money, possessions and appearances meant everything to her Mom.
She said to her Mom, “Here are my options. Date a man who drives: A Porsche and lives in it; a Camry, lives in a lavish house, and is broke; a 1963 VW Bug, lives in a studio apartment, and is financially sound. You can’t judge a book by its cover Mom. When I get hitched Mom, it will be for love.”
