Once again, I am participating in Rochelle Wisoff-Fields flash fiction challenge Friday Fictioneers. This challenge requires the writer to come up with a story that has a beginning, middle and end that goes along with the photo prompt. The word count: 100 or less. Today’s photo is by Rochelle herself. Are you ready for my story?
“There she is again, on the veranda, with a cup of coffee in her hand, and she is looking at us. Do you think she knows we watch her?” asked agent Riggs.
“With all the high tech equipment and monitoring devices, how could she?” replied agent Smith.

On her veranda, Amanda turned towards the house on the corner. They were watching. Little did they know that she had her high tech listening device working. The ear bud in her ear allowed her to hear everything they said. Smiling, the watched was watching the watchers!

Thank you to Rochelle for hosting Friday Fictioneers! And thank you dear reader for taking the time to stop by today! I hope that you enjoyed my bit of flash! Have a terrific Thursday, and be well…. ^..^
Watching the watchers! Makes me want to read more!
🙂 Thanks Emily! It was a fun story to write!
What a nice twist to this tale…the watchee is two steps ahead of the watchers:)
Thanks! Now can you say the last line 5 times quickly? 🙂

Glad you liked it Bjorn!
Heehee, I like that they’re all trying to be so sneaky 🙂 great story!!
It was fun wasn’t it? Now your task is to go back, read it again, and then say the last line as quickly as you can getting all the words right! 😉
Great last line
That was a fun one wasn’t it? Can you say that line 5 times fast? 🙂
Great story, I wonder if they’ll figure it out?
Thank you! What with technology the way it is one would be able to figure it out…
Very amusing. Never assume that you’re the only one with the gadgets.
Thank you! Yes, and you know what they say about the word “assume?” 🙂
Dear Barb,
I’m not sure why they’re watching her but I love it that she’s got their number. A well written bit of espionage–nicely done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thank you Rochelle, and again congratulations on being featured!
And I was lookin’ back to see
if you were lookin’ back at me
to see if I was lookin’ back at you
to see if you were lookin’ too.
Who was that mysterious lady? Her biographer writes well. 🙂
I love the poem! Good one! The mysterious lady’s biographer says thank you!
It was an old Country/Western song that my parents listened to back in the ’50s, but it came to mind, and seemed so appropriate. 🙂
It sure worked! Thanks for sharing!
That will show them! They aren’t as smart as they think they are. LOL!
It sure will! No, they are not! Glad you enjoyed my story Joy! 🙂
Thank you Barbara. 🙂
🙂
Good story, and I’m sure the watched can obtain equipment that is as good, or better, than those watching – just Google it, ha!
Thank you PJ!
A smile and a chuckle for that one.
Glad you enjoyed it Anneli! 🙂
