I always find being near water soothing. There is something about the sound and the sight that just calms me. There is a quiet beauty as I sit by the river. I am lulled by the lapping of the water against the shore. And, the surrounding landscape is truly majestic! Come and sit with me by a river!
I found myself along the Susitna River with the majestic Mt. McKinley (Denali as it is referred to in Alaska) as a backdrop. The river is the 15th largest river in the U.S. and Mt. McKinley is the highest peak in North America.
Small waves roll along the shoreline.
Rafters laugh gaily as they head towards the shore.
As my gaze wanders I notice the lovely colors not only in the rocks in the river but along the shoreline as well!
Looking closer at the rocks, I notice how smooth their edges are. This is due them being smoothed as they come off the glacier and roll along the river. The water can be powerful in its ability to sculpture that which is within.
The river is calming and hypnotic as I watch the waters move along…
One final shot of the amazing and majestic beauty from the shore!
Do you find water soothing and calming?
Have one heck of splendid Saturday! Thank you for dropping by! Be well! ^..^
