When I saw the subject of this week’s WordPress Photo Challenge, which is “room,” what immediately came to mind were the rooms of the house we bought in 2006. So, while these are not the best photos, maybe you will see why we fell in love with this place. These photos were taken before we moved in. We had a lot of cleaning to do as no one lived in the house for one year. Pardon the dust!
I fell in love with all the wood.
This home was built as a summer home for a family, which is why our kitchen is so tiny!
This is the living room and it looks out to the screened in patio room.
Here is the screened in patio room. Check out all the pollen coating the floor!
Heading downstairs, there is a game room complete with a dart board and pool table! There is also a bench for you to sit on!
And in the basement, in a perfect spot as it is the coolest area of the house, we have a wine cellar! This is what it looked like when we moved in. Today the rack is full!
So, these are the rooms in our house! We love each and every one of them!
Have a great Saturday! If you are in my neck of the woods, stay cool and if you are out and about, then be sure to have water with you! Temps today will be in the mid-90’s! Be well!
Oh you DO have a wonderful house! I love each of the rooms. 🙂
Thank you! We do love the house! Our only wish is that the kitchen was bigger! We overflow into the laundry room! Be well! ^..^
I can see why you love it. Lot’s of beautiful wood and natural light.
We love the house! When I came here with the realtor he thought the house was dark. I opened up blinds and he still did not see it, but I did! We are truly happy here!
You are living in a home I dream of. I can see why you are so happy there.
Thank you April! We are very happy here!
Kitchen windows are my thing. You’ve got two nice ones to enjoy the view from the kitchen on snowy days, rainy days, overcast days and bright sunny days.
We certainly do have nice windows all through the house. I love sitting in my easy chair in the winter and watching the snow fall!
I love log homes and would love to live in one some day.

This is a log style home, so the rounded walls that you see are actually a siding. It is beautiful and a bit of a dust collector too! 🙂
That is a lovely house and I can see why you love it. I love all the wood too. Is it true for you that wooden houses stay cooler in hot weather? My cabin is a wooden structure, and, although is full of cracks between the logs, it does stay cooler int he summer, but it’s impossible to tell with the huge windows and leaky walls. 🙂
This is actually a log style house, not a true log house. The living room does get warm but that is because the sun beats on two sides where there is no shade. Cannot put trees to shade the house because of fire danger and the septic!
Lots of wood; very nice! At least your husband won’t have a lot of painting to do.
Almost no painting. Just the basement and two walls upstairs. He is happy about that!
great log walls
Thank you Ritva!
And a lovely house it is! Interesting to see how it looked before you made it into a home. Thanks!
Thank you Marcybee! I love it!
Wood gives a room a warm feeling.
Especially in winter when you sit in the living room watching the snow fall!
