I didn’t know that it would turn out this way! But it did. My name is Glinda.
I dressed for the day, expecting it to be nothing other than an ordinary day. I chose the lovely white lace gown that was dotted with itty bitty seed pearls. Checking myself in the mirror I looked fabulous! And I was confident today would be a good day!
I was visiting with the Munchkins when suddenly the Wicked Witch of West appeared tossing a bucket of water at me! I fell back against the table behind me and screamed, “I am melting, melting!”

Thank you to Rochelle Wisoff-Fields for hosting Friday Fictioneers, and to Renee Heath for the inspiring photo!
I hope that you enjoyed my bit of flash! Have a fabulous Friday and thank you for stopping by!
Then along came that feisty kid from Kansas with the scruffy dog she called Toto and turned the tables on the WW of the West, aka Elphaba Tropp.of the green complexion.
🙂
This made me laugh. I love the description of the dress and how lovely she thought she looked. Light-hearted take on the prompt. Thanks
Glad that you enjoyed my bit of flash! Thanks for the comment!
I think you have a point–why should only bad witches be melted by water? 🙂 I wonder why the Wicked Witch threw water on her, but perhaps she was interested in the dress!
janet
She might have been jealous over the dress? And, too, that maybe Glinda’s facial coloring is more pleasing to the eye! 🙂
Creative take on the prompt. 🙂 Poor Glinda. Where’s that wizard when you need him? If the Wicked Witch of the West came back from melting though I have hope for Glinda. 🙂 Maybe they do that to each other all the time. 🙂

One never knows! Thanks for the comment Susan!
Deare Barb,
What a twisted turn of events. Had this really happened to Good Witch Glinda I think things might have turned out differently for Dorothy and her traveling companions. (Toto, too.;) ) Clever!
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thank you Rochelle not only for the comment but for hosting this weekly adventure into the creative mind!
No, no! Glinda can’t melt! That would really change the story up! Fun take.
Thank you Amy!
I thought Glinda was a good witch and water wouldn’t do that to her……I guess I better read up on my OZ theories…………only kidding. Good imagination to accompany the photo.
It’s fiction! Who said that water could not hurt the good witch? She is a witch just like WW of the West! 🙂
Funny take on the photograph. Oh, what a world, what a world!
What a world indeed! Thanks for your comment Marcybee!
Oh dear. She was the good witch, wasn’t she? Now we’re toast!
Are you sure? 🙂
About Glinda, or about the toast. I’m not sure about either.
🙂
Ha.. I have to say I had not heard of this particular thing from the wizard of oz.. but it does make sense….
If one witch could melt why couldn’t any other? 🙂
Sounds a bit far fetched to me. Next your gonna tell me there’s some strange wizard fella at the end of a yellow brick road. Amusing Friday afternoon yarn. Light hearted and bubbly. Thank you
Thank you A for the comment!
Nice side-story on an ol’ classic. 🙂
Why thank you RoSy!
