The subject of this week’s WordPress Photo challenge is Abandoned! According to Merriam-Webster the definition of the term is: 1) Left without needed protection or care; 2) Left by the owner; or, 3) No longer held or thought of; given up. So, check out these photos that capture this theme!

In Jerome, AZ in the ghost town, we find long forgotten mining equipment.
Near Fort Apache in AZ, we visited the ruins of Kinishba. Why did they abandon this place?

Of all your photos, each capturing the term of abandoned, I think the one that did “say” it best was the photo of the overgrown staircase. It shows the neglect that comes from abandonment. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the comment PJ!
Thought provoking pictures. I can’t help but try to imagine the people who were once present and wonder if they voluntarily abandoned these places or were forced away by someone or something?
One can only wonder! Thank you for your comment Marcy!
