Yesterday, leaving the house as the sun was just breaking over the horizon, I grabbed my camera and headed out into the neighborhood hoping to capture photos to use for this blog. Early morning or late afternoon truly brings out the intensity of color in the terrain, and this is what I was hoping to catch. While at one of the local lakes the call of Canadian Geese drew my attention. I watched as they circled overhead. They were lowering. Poised with my camera at the ready I was very fortunate to capture this series of photos!
Here they are still circling…
I watched as they lowered.
They started to land, heading right towards where I was standing!
As they got ready to land you could see their feet lowered into breaking mode.
I catch them as they land!
The ripples their landing has created form circles around each bird!
Amazing, isn’t it! What luck to have so perfectly captured these magical moments!
I hope that you enjoyed the photos in this post! Have a splendid Saturday, and many thanks for taking the time to visit with me today! 🙂
Great series of photos capturing the geese as they fly above and land on the water. Lots of folks never get to see something like this.
I just love the photos.
If I may…?

You bring it to mind. =)
Why thank you! If you would like to use photos, please let me know and I will email to you for use as long as you give me credit and a link back… 🙂 Loved the poem!
I’ll keep you in mind for future poems, though I have no promises apart from that. =)
Thank you! Feel free to check out the photo and poetry collaborations I did with Sharla Shultz…Her words, my photos…

Wonderful, Barb! I especially like “Ready to touch down,” with their shadows below them. Wasn’t it considerate of them to put on such a lovely show for you? I’m glad you were out early to catch them with your camera and then share them with us.
Thank you Marcy! I was very lucky to catch the show!
These are beautiful Babs!
Thanks!
These opportunities don’t happen often. You’ve captured this one beautifully, Barbara!
Many thanks Lynda!
