The theme of this week’s WordPress weekly photo challenge is Surprise! Well, that was a surprise in and of itself! So I went looking through my vast array of photos for photos with a surprise in them, and here is my little surprises for you!
We were just about ready to board a helicopter for a flight over the active volcano on the Island of Hawai’i. I snapped this photo and later found a baby cricket hidden on the flower. See if you can find it!
On the same trip, my husband and I took a walk along the beach by where we were staying. All of a sudden up out of the water, I discovered, to my surprise, this big fellow!
On our way to the Volcanoes National Park we found ourselves surrounded by old lava flows. Amidst all the lava, I made my husband pull the car over as I was surprised to find a living tree!
In this next photo, I captured some hermit crabs. I am hoping that you will see the amazing reds and florescent blues on their little heads, which are poking out of their shells.
I was photographing tide pools and realized that I have a photo with a fish in it…Can you see the fish?
In another shot of the same tide pools, I caught a shrimp! Have you ever caught a shrimp?
The rocks on one beach made for a good photo of textures. Guess what I caught on the rocks?
Please go take a look at other entries in this week’s photo challenge. You can check them out by clicking here!
Thank you for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!

Thank you and back at you!
I found the flower. You take good picture of small things. That is so sweet especially a live tree on the volcanic ground.
Thank you for the comment!
Beautiful pictures 😉

Thank you for the pingback!
I fell in love with that hibiscus photo! My son named his cat Hecubus once, and as I could never remember that, I called it Hibiscus. He’d correct me, and I’d tell him to name the cat something I could remember, then. 😆
🙂 Thank you for the comment!
Hawaii is full of surprises. Or is it your photographer’s eye that catches them everywhere?
Love the turtle.
No matter where you are there are surprises everywhere. I look for what is hidden in plain view! The turtles are very special!
