There is nothing like roses in ones garden. I love the roses with fragrance, and the roses from the florists today seldom provide one with the lovely rose that comes from the garden. It is sad that the dollar has replaced the smell of a beautiful rose…So today, put on your imagination hats and come walk through my garden as we stop to smell the roses!
“A thorn defends the rose, harming only those who would steal the blossom.” Chinese proverb
“I once had a rose named after me and I was very flattered. But I was not pleased to read the description in the catalogue: No good in a bed, but fine up against a wall.” Eleanor Roosevelt
“The optimist sees the rose and not its thorns; the pessimist stares at the thorns, oblivious to the rose.” Kahlil Gibran
“If I had a rose for every time I thought of you, I’d be picking roses for a lifetime.” Swedish Proverb
“There is nothing more difficult for a truly creative painter than to paint a rose, because before he can do so he has first to forget all the roses that were ever painted.” Henry Matisse
“’Tis the last rose of summer left blooming alone; all her lovely companions are faded and gone.” Thomas More
“Do not watch the petals fall from the rose with sadness, know that, like life, things sometimes must fade, before they can bloom again.” Unknown
I hope that you enjoyed walking with me through the roses! Now go and have a great Sunday!
