This morning I ventured out to the garden to check things out. It has been about two weeks since I have been down there and I knew I had vegetables to pick. So I went off with my basket, and I wanted to share with you today’s harvest. This might be the last that I get out of the garden. Our temperatures have been hot, with this past week being in the 90’s and today we have a major cool down with the morning temperature being 47. Quite a change! So, here is what I found…
Can you believe the size? These were not there two weeks ago! Another shot to give you a bit of perspective…Each of these weighs in at approximately 5 pounds! Here is the rest of what I picked. Now that I have a number of different ingredients, I will have to come up with a recipe on what to do with all these lovely fresh vegetables! Do you have any suggestions? I would love to hear them!Today’s Harvest

Wow!! Those zucchini are incredible. Mine last year didn’t even get 1/4 as big.
I have not had any as big as those! We had taken a vacation and it had been two weeks since I was in the garden. They are very happy plants! Cannot wait to see what I find this weekend!
Make salsa my dear….that is what I have been doing. Fresh salsa is wonderful. You will need cilantro though.
Wow you have a beautiful garden! Look at all those fresh veggies!!!
You could do a big vegetable ragout?
Lovely looking harvest.
Best,
Conor
Nice idea Conor!
OMG is that a cucumber? or a squash!!!!??? That is unbelievable! Well for sure you need to make a GIANT cucumber salad for the whole town. It will take 1 lb. of dill, 5 quarts of mayonnaise, 1 quart of vinegar……hhehehehehehehe u get the point
Zucchini Trish! Now I have to figure out what to make with that, tomatoes, banana peppers, jalapeno, and onion. Suggestions?
What a harvest! Salads, BLTs, Zucchini ‘pizza’, veggie medly…just a few ideas.
Fresh vegetables are so colorful and soothing to the eye! Sometimes they’re too beautiful to cook!
I brought home a dozen huge grapefruit today – large golden orbs of amazing flavor.. 8 for a dollar – yum yum.. i’ll bet the tomatoes in your garden are better than the ones i bought in town!

Actually this year I am disappointed with the tomatoes. While the flavor has been nice, the output has been very low. Next year the plan is sun golds and a large red variety!
