I have not given you a recipe for almost two weeks, having been consumed with my garden. So here is a recipe that I put together last night that was extremely tasty, and very easy to make!
Ingredients
1# sirloin
6 slices of peppered bacon
1 small onion, chopped
2 cups of crimini mushrooms, sliced thickly
4 cups of spinach, washed with stems removed
liquid smoke
salt and pepper
Take the sirloin out about an hour before you are ready to start cooking. Slice it up into thick strips. You can do the bacon at the same time.
Take the steak and lay it out on a cutting board and grind some fresh black pepper and salt over the meat. Then take the liquid smoke and covering most of the opening with your thumb, sprinkle the meat with the liquid smoke. Let this sit for about 45 minutes.
When you are ready to cook, add the onion and bacon to a skillet and heat over medium high heat.
Stir occasionally. When the onions looked like they have softened a bit, add the mushrooms. Cook until all have caramelized.
Then add in the steak.
Stir until it just turns color.
Then add the spinach.
Turn off the heat and cover. Let this sit for a couple of minutes while you get your plates ready for serving. Remove the lid and give it a good stir to blend in the spinach.
Then serve it up!
I hope that you will enjoy this wonderful combination of flavors! As this is the first time I have made this dish, my husband said that this recipe is a definite keeper!

Oh wow!
I was already drooling and then I read the comment about the oven baked potato wedges. Sounds fantastic!
I created a potato recipe that was inspired by a fellow WordPress blogger: Conor Bofin. Here is the link to what he does with his potatoes.
This looks so good. I love steak and I love bacon!
The two go really well together! The spinach, mushrooms and onions are also good with this combo!
I only have one word for this. YUM! Gonna have to try this one soon!
It was very, very tasty! I served this with oven baked potato wedges. Perfect combo! Let me know how this turns out for you!
Will do. I was thinking of slathering it on top of wild rice with a side of grilled asparagus with crushed garlic and to wash it down with an Australian Malbec!
I am coming over to your house!
