Once a year the moon reaches a distance of 221,802 miles away from earth, which is the closest that it ever gets to our blue planet. In its orbit, this point is called perigee. It has been dubbed as the “Super Moon.” The moon on this day looks bigger than at other times of the year.
I ventured outside last night hoping to catch some photos. Here are the photos that I took…
These photos were taken using my zoom lens, which is a 75-300mm lens. Here is a photo that I took using my regular 55mm lens.Did you get a chance to see the Super Moon in your neck of the woods? Let me know!

beautiful!
Shucks I missed it 😦 will have to wait until next year.
It still looks like the moon!
Very true 🙂
Did get to see it, yet to my old tired eyes it looked like a regular full moon. Saw it again early this morning before it set and it still appeared to be a regular ol’ full moon, oh well.
After a six-week absence of rain here on the Ecuador coast, no one complained that the rain clouds obscured our view of the moon! Thanks so much for sharing your stunning views! Z
Glad that you were able to catch it via my post Z!
