There is the quiet beauty that is found after a snowfall. And it starts on a clear morning after a storm when the sun rises slowly in the east.
As it comes up and graces the world with its sunny smile, the brilliance of the light gently kisses the tops of the snow covered trees.
The lights come on in this once sleepy world.
Branches are laden with the weight of yesterday’s storm.
Trees patiently await the melt off so that they can once again lift their branches and breathe.
The local roads are covered, never to be plowed.
Corners are shady, snow is deep, and the road quietly rests.
As the world comes back to life after the snow the snow beams and sparkles in all its glory.
As the cold seeps into my fingers and toes, I slowly walk back to my home greeted by the warmth that resides within its doors.
The snow melts. The world returns to the quiet beauty that was there before the storm.
Thank you for stopping by today, and have a wonderful Thursday!

Beautiful pictures Babs, I wish we had snow like you
Your house looks fabulous, very homely
Thank you Claire! That was our only snow for the season. We are missing another 6″!
Great set of photos, and sentiment, on the sun’s light hitting the snow capped trees. Thanks for the share and hopefully no shoveling was needed, what a back breaking chore.
Definitely Winter Wonderland! Beautiful!
Your home looks beautiful Barb. I can feel its coziness just from your writing. Enjoy your winter wonderland!
I love my house! We have extra room for visitors should they decide to visit! Hint….hint!
Wish we were there now! Thanks so much for the invitation.
Barb, what sweet writing. I love that the light is “kissing” the trees and that the trees are “patiently waiting” for the snow to melt so they can “lift their branches and breathe.” “The road quietly rests” and “the snow beams and sparkles.” Not only are your photos beautiful, but so are your word pictures. You are a story teller! Thanks for bringing more delight into an already beautiful morning. xo
xo back to you Marcy! We have some trips to make my dear, once life returns to normal! Thank you for the compliments and your lovely words too! – B
snow is beautiful, just wish it wasnt so cold! nice photos, by the way the thought of getting stuck in the snow due to unplowed roads is scary.
The unplowed roads are why I did not make it in to work yesterday! Still some snow on the ground, and it is lovely! Thank you Roberta for your comment!
