I woke up late this morning, happy that I slept so long, but not happy as it cuts my time short for the stuff that I like to do in the morning, such as write this blog…I was grousing to my husband that I was short of time to devote today, and still needed to come up with a topic. We headed out the door with our cups of coffee, one of the morning routines, sat in my chair, and then turned to look out of the screened in patio room to see an incredible sight!
Virga, which you will see in the following photos, is a visible streak of rain coming down that evaporates before ever hitting the ground. I am sure you have seen this at some time no matter where you live, but this was the biggest drop of virga I have ever seen!
I told my husband that at least this was not spinning! Here is another shot a bit closer….There was more that the one “cone” of virga. It was all around us but not as grand as that cone. The colors intensified with the rising sun.And one final shot of this amazing sight!Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

wow! what a wonderful way to start the day! i almost always step out on the deck and peer at the river to see — just to see! i am never disappointed!

Wow, what fabulous photos. Sometimes it pays to sleep in!
It did yesterday! I sent two of these photos to one of the local weather reporters. It was an amazing sight!

Great colorful photos, usually see virga in shades of grey. Thanks for the share.
