One of the things that I love to do is take photographs of a part of the world few take the time to stop and see. There are so many tiny details that sometimes even surprise me! Today I thought that I would share with you some of the little things that I discover using my macro lens!
As we wander around the garden of days gone by I lay on the ground to see these fairies on a weed up close and personal!
One of our deer resistant plants is called Vinca. There is major and minor. I am not sure which this is, but look at the world that I discovered in the center of this lovely blue flower! Periwinkle is its common name.
Who knew that there is a cavern inside the center of a pansy?
Just like a helicopter has a landing pad, so does the center of this flower! Here is a landing pad for bees!
As daffodils emerge, the outer skin peels away to expose the flower. Here is a close up of this skin.
And looking down the center of a peach colored variety of this same type of flower, check out this amazing center!
Next time you are out in your garden, see if you can see some of these things in your yard! Have a wonderful day, and thank you for visiting today!

This has to be one of my favorites! Great photography
Thank you again Sharla!
That is one powerful lens and an even more powerful curiosity behind it – stunning shots which you have created into plant worlds – amazing! We don’t have time to look this hard do we – but we are rewarded if we do – lovely blog – Alison
Alison – Thank you so much for the comments you have made! I love looking at our world, which is smaller or bigger than most think it is. I am very, very pleased that I have touched you in the way that I have. This means to me that I have conveyed what I wanted to and you had the vision to see the painting that I presented! I am honored! Thank you! Hugs too!
Hi babs – yes – I saw it and I even squinted to see its abstracness more – I do that all th etim ethogh for my painting where I need to block things into tonal chunks. We live in worlds within world really don’t we? Long may your camera provide a fantastic tool of discovery and expression. Sometimes we just can’t say it enough how much we love something … I mean – look at Monet – he painted those haystacks over and over and over and why not if he loved painting them…Alison
Great detail! Love the close ups. Enjoyed the bee landing pad.
