In coming up with a topic for today, I chose to focus on the color green. Green surrounds us in our everyday lives. There are so many different shades of this color, it is hard to choose a favorite shade…How about we take a walk through all the shades of green I have found in my neck of the woods? OK! Let’s go!
Here is one of the native plants in this area that is a lovely green shade. It puts out a beautiful flower stalk loaded with yellow flowers. Rumor has it that the miners used the leaves of this plant as we would toilet paper…rumor – OK?

At this time of year the moss explodes with color! It goes dormant in the summer, turning brown.
