I’m participating in the online adventure travel and photography magazine LetsBeWild.com’s Wild Weekly Photo Challenge for bloggers. This week’s Challenge is: Unusual!
This challenge really had me thinking about what around me is unusual. There is a lot around me that is unusual, whether it is in nature or man-made. So today I share with you that which I find unusual.
My husband and I were in the desert when we came across this structure. It was man-made, but it was an unusual sight indeed!
This photo won the Audience Choice Award!
How strange is it to come across a cactus showing that it truly has a heart?
What if you were to find a sunburst in an unusual spot? I found one in a barrel cactus…
Something else that I thought was an odd find in the desert was this plant that had seed pods that resembled tomatoes.
Or, a purple cactus?
I was amazed that I found a flower on the cactus in the desert in winter. And it was a vibrant color too!
Now for the most unusual sight of all, how about a house that has an observatory as a prominent feature?
Thank you to the team over at Let’s Be Wild for this photo challenge! Be sure to check out what others have submitted to their challenge by clicking here!
Thank you for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!

Congratulations!
The sculpture is beautifully captured.
Thank you Imelda!
Great photos! What IS the unusual site in the desert?
A piece of artwork maybe?
You ended that with a question mark so your guess is as good as any:>) I thought it may be something desert oriented but it is too big to be a plant…LOL:>)
hey, i think those tomato-looking berries are nightshade, which of course is in the tomato/potato/eggplant family. the nightshade is poisonous, though the juice of its cousin in latin amrerica will cure athlete’s foot.. don’t drink the juice – you cut the fruit and rub the juice on the fungus. do that every four or six hours, and usually after 24 hours, the fungus is all but gone.
that’s for the cousin down here.. not sure about that one!
